About Us
E-Lit World was created by an avid reader frustrated with the shortcomings of existing digital reading platforms. Common issues included:
-
Paying upfront for tokens/coins to read incomplete novels, only for the author to stop updating midway.
-
Paying repeatedly without knowing the total number of chapters, leaving readers unsure whether to continue or cut their losses.
-
Apps that limit reading to a chapter or two per day, requiring users to watch ads or wait for tokens to continue, frustrating readers who want uninterrupted access.
At the same time, as the creator began writing their own novel, they discovered challenges that authors face in publishing:
-
Navigating between traditional and digital publishing, each with its pros and cons.
-
Platforms that fail to honor exclusivity or payment terms, leaving authors vulnerable to exploitation.
-
Unauthorized “black sites” distributing authors’ works without compensation, sometimes with minor changes such as character names.
-
Despite these challenges, digital publishing remains more sustainable than print, with lower costs and a far greater potential reach. E-Lit World was therefore developed to benefit both readers and authors, providing a fair, transparent, and user-friendly platform.
How It Works
-
Works-in-progress (WIP) may be uploaded for free reading and visibility.
-
Paid listings are only available for completed, full-length manuscripts that meet editorial standards.
-
Completed manuscripts are clearly labeled. Ongoing works must include an estimated release schedule and upload updates at reasonable intervals.
Writers can:
-
Upload chapters
-
Build visibility and readership
-
Receive feedback
-
Establish their presence on the portal
Royalties & Pricing
Authors set the price of their completed manuscripts themselves. For each sale, authors receive 70% of the revenue, while the remaining 30% covers platform and payment processing fees.
We are committed to transparency, so authors always know exactly what they earn per sale.
